‘divyangs Being Charged Under Chiranjeevi’ | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Hemant Bhai Goyal, national vice-president of the Divyang Adhikar Mahasangh, said despite families of specially-abled pensioners being given BPL status in Rajasthan, the persons with disabilities (PWDs) were still being charged Rs 850 to avail benefits of the Chief Minister Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme.
He also alleged that the directorate of specially-abled persons has not issued guidelines for the same yet. “After giving BPL status, families of PwD pensioners should not be charged Rs 850 for Chiranjeevi scheme, but it is still being charged,” said Goyal.
“Moreover, for issuing disability certificates, caste and income certificates are still being sought from specially-abled persons. You don’t need these certificates for issuing disability certificates. The department can just add a column in the application form for declaring one’s caste. Why do you need caste certificates? The department must make the reason public for taking a decision to seek a caste certificate.” tnn
