Bizman Shoots Self Dead After Failing To Retrieve Lent Money | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: A 41-year-old businessman died after he shot himself with a licenced pistol on his bed inside his bedroom in Swarnkar Colony in Shastri Nagar on Wednesday.

Manmohan Soni was taken to Kanwatia Hospital where doctors pronounced him brought dead. The deceased’s cousin, Samar Soni alleged that Manmohan had tried to end his life twice before because he had given over Rs 6 crore to some persons for investment but could not get the amount back.
“These people took away his (Manmohan) money and left him in a lurch by refusing to hand over the money,” he alleged, adding that the family had also filed an FIR in 2020 against people who defrauded Manmohan at the Shastri Nagar police station, but he did not get justice.
“He was under severe stress because of the money,” Samar said. The family said that Manmohan was so concerned that he twice tried ending his life by consuming pills. “These accused were constantly intimidating Manmohan. They used to often come to his house and use very menacing language,” said Samar.
The family members said that Manmohan ran a grocery store near Shastri Nagar. He lived in a two-story house with his younger brother. The deceased’s 19-year-old son and 16-year-old daughter were away when he shot himself in the chest shortly after 11.15 AM.
The family members rushed to the bedroom after hearing gunshots to check on Manmohan. There was blood all over the place and the bullet had passed through his body and lodged on the bed’s wooden back panel. The FSL expert Abhay Pratap Singh and senior officials collected samples from the bedroom.
A team from the Shastri Nagar police station arrived at the spot and said that they will seal the bedroom for the investigation. Samar said that they discovered a video that Manmohan shot on his mobile before the latter’s death.
A deeply distressed Soni in the video said that banks were calling him for the money because the accused had buried him in debt.
